Fès celebrates comic strips

CULTURE Initiated by the Institut Français in Fès, the fourth edition called Bulles en ville will take place from March 9 - 12, 2001. Since it started in 2008, this event gives new artists the opportunity to meet established comic strip artists, as well as share ideas and experiences.

It’s the week of the comic strip and francophone cartoons will be honoured. It’s a time for the amateur comic strip designers to learn a bit more about the subject and the techniques used here in Morocco.

At the same time, Cartoons for Peace will bring together some of the biggest names in comics including Plantu, Dilem, Danziger, Kroll, Kash, Lon, Bahgory, Chappatte et Kichka, which will be honoured during a public exhibition.

The artists’ work focuses on one theme: uniting in the fight against international issues and peace in the world. Each piece is unique, and encourages the viewer to reflect on the issue presented.

As per other conferences, the program is full: an artist-in-residence who will meet and discuss various subjects with amateur designers, workshops, debates, animated films screening and comic series presentations.
